2017 Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Fest: May 6th & 7th


The 2017 Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Fest, the Tri-Valley’s premier festival will be held on May 6th and 7th. The festival, which boasts an attendance of over 150,000 people over the course of two days, will stretch along First Street from the Vine Theater all the way down to Maple.

New this year is the launch of the Lifestyle Pavilion. Where experts in the culinary field gather to educate and entertain! Monique Soltani of Wine Oh TV will be hosting the Lifestyle Pavilion on Saturday May 6th.

TIME: 11:30am to 12:30pm
TOPIC: A Little Spice is Always Nice
PRESENTER: Van Young – Simply Spice
PRESENTATION INFO: Van Young Jr. is owner and executive chef of Simply Spice, a soul food experience. Van will provide a demonstration of how to blend various spices for quick and easy everyday meal enhancements highlighting flavor combinations that celebrate authentic food experiences. Each participant will receive a sample of spices to take home.

TOPIC: Seriously Fun Wine Education
PRESENTER: LeeAnn Kaufman – Concannon Vineyards
PRESENTATION INFO: Presented by the Sommelier of the Concannon Vineyard Estate, LeeAnn Kaufman. The world of wine can be daunting, don’t be afraid to just open your favorite bottle and start exploring. Only you will know what works best for your palate. This mini session will focus on layering flavors like, finding the “POP” in your wine and popcorn pairing. Sommelier LeeAnn Kaufmans will also present her favorite wine and jerky combination that will help kick-start the process of finding your own weird and delicious wine and food pairings. Each participant will receive a $10 gift certificate to be used at Concannon Vineyard Estate.

TOPIC: Extra Virgin! The Many Uses of Olive Oil
PRESENTER: Derek Eddy – Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa
PRESENTATION INFO: Presented by Derek Eddy, owner of Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa. This presentation will focus on the basics of what makes extra virgin olive oil Extra virgin Olive oil. From harvesting techniques to milling techniques, we will discuss why it is important to know where your olive oil comes from. The presentation will also discuss the health benefits of olive EVOO, and the many uses of it. We will share our favorite recipes and also discuss how we have integrated our olive oil into every treatment in our day spa. A licensed massage therapist will discuss the healing power of EVOO and how it pertains to the skin, and give a short demonstration of practical massage moves anyone can do at home with their partner. Each participant will receive a 60 ml of extra virgin olive oil.

The Livermore Wine Country Festival will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 10AM – 6PM and on Sunday, May 7th from 10AM – 5PM on First Street in Downtown Livermore from Maple to O Street, and on Second Street from L to N Streets. Free Admission and Free Parking outside the event. There is no outside alcohol permitted within the event.

•Second Street, will be filled with Fun and Games Kid’s activities from J to N Street.

•K Street Merchants, Blacksmith Square and Our First and Maple Street Merchants are hosting live music on stages in their neighborhood. Live bands will be playing both days

• Livermore School of Dance will be hosting a Family Performance Stage at L and Second Street.
