JCB N°69
OK so right away I know what you are thinking, and believe it or not there is ANOTHER meaning behind the number 69 and here it is: Each JCB wine is known by a number. And each number has deep significance for Jean-Charles Boisset, the collection’s creator and namesake. Jean-Charles was born in 1969, the year that mankind went to the moon. As such, 69 represents unlimited expression, freedom, creativity, intellectual revolution, artistry, and refinement. Of course, 69 is also a rosé brut based exclusively on Pinot Noir; a rosé that entwines masculinity and femininity (OK so maybe you WERE right :)). $20 Click to Purchase!
Toad Hollow Risqué
With the motto “Fine Wines at an Affordable Price”, you cann cann and you must must try racy wine from Toad Hollow Vineyards. Toad Hollow Vineyards is based in California, but the Toad Hollow Risqué is made in Limoux in the Languedoc, France using the Mauzac grape and imported to the US by Toad Hollow. Made with the Methode Ancestrale style, which differs from most Sparkling wines since there is no second fermentation. The wine is bottled before the first fermentation is complete, as the fermentation is completed in the bottle, the carbon dioxide being released by the sugar being turned into alcohol gives the wine much softer, less intense bubbles. A low alcohol content of 6%. This is a crisp and fruity sparkling wine with low alcohol and a delicate sweetness. $13.99 Click to Purchase!
Sex
If serving up a little S-E-X doesn’t turn your flame into an inferno then you’ve got some splainin to do. L. Mawby Vineyards makes this Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine out of Pennsylvania. A provocative blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes that are hand picked and carefully whole-cluster pressed. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks, then blended with reserve wines and fermented a second time in a closed tank (the cuve close method). The wine is then filtered, dosaged, and bottled. Pinkish salmon hue, red fruit aromas, yeasty accents, fruity and soft style. $15
JBrut Rosé NV
What can I say, this sparkling wine from J Vineyards and Winery doesn’t need a sexy name to make you want it. It’s love at first sight when the first thing you see is the sexy bottle and the seductive wine color. After that, when you’re tasting the wine, you find crisp, red berries, blood orange, lemon peel, concentrated flavors, perfect balance, effervescent, and elegant. After secondary fermentation in the bottle, these wines are aged for an average of 30 months in the cool cellars. The dosage was made from a blend of reserve wines and pure cane sugar. The wine is aged another six months before release from the cellars. Pairs perfectly with oysters! (What I’m just saying). $38 Click to Purchase!
Zonin Rosé
Zion might be the end all be all, but after a few sips of this Zonin Rosé and you and your lover will be transcended to a higher place. The characteristic light strawberry blond color of the wine must comes from the antocians of the skins. In order to maintain the natural bubbles, the partially fermented must is converted to sparkling wine in pressurized stainless steel tanks in accordance with the traditional Charmat method. A lightly-colored sparkling rosé with a fine and seductively delicate perlage (effervescence). Pleasant, intense and fruity, evoking memories of wisteria flowers and apples. On the palate it is soft and smooth with floral notes and a hint of almond. Excellent as an aperitif and an ideal accompaniment to hors d’oeuvres risottos, fragrant fried food and grilled fish. $14.99 Click to Purchase!
Zibibbo Sparkling Pink Moscato
I’ll have what she’s having, especially if what’s on her mind is a Moscato. This wine is produced by the Angove Family Winemakers, a family with deep roots in winemaking since 1886. Also known as the “Muscat of Alexandria,” this Zibibbo has a splash of Syrah to give the wine its blush color. Angove Family Winemakers puts Zibibbo Sparkling Pink Moscato through malolactic fermentation, feeling that this method adds the slightest touch of cream, creating a perfect balance with the freshness of the fruit. On the palate, the first impression is exuberant, well-rounded and pure, opening to effervescence that enhances the fruit flavors. $11.99 Click to Purchase!
