First Growth (French: Premier Cru) status is a classification of wines primarily from the Bordeaux region of France. Latour’s production dates back to the mid 1300s. Under the stewardship of owner François Pinault and president Frédéric Engerer since 1993, the Chåteau’s wines continue to captivate collectors and to inspire winegrowers the world over.

Bordeaux Wine Chateau LatourChateau Latour President, Frédéric Engerer was born in a family of wine merchants, has been tasting wine for over two decades, and is one of the best wine tasters in the world. At the end of 1994, François Pinault, owner of Château Latour, asked Engerer to join the Estate as Commercial Director and he became President of the company at the end of 1998. Engerer appointed an entirely new technical team whose first vintage is 1999. Since 1999, he has also supervised the complete renovation of the facility of the Estate. Engerer has devoted his time and energy to uphold the name and the distribution of Château Latour in the world.
