On February 22, 2013 PS I Love You, the leading organization promoting Petite Sirah, with be holding its 7th Annual Dark and Delicious Wine Tasting event at Alameda’s urban winery, Rock Wall. At the evening event, California wineries specializing in Petite Sirah will be pouring their new, and possibly rare and older vintages , while over 30 fine food sponsors will prepare dishes to pair with the wine. The National Pork Board, a major sponsor of the event, will help the chefs of these eateries by donating pork in hopes of inspiring the chefs to create a perfect pairing with Petite Sirah. Petite Sirah and pork go well together, not just because of the texture of the meat which matches the body and tannins of the wine, but also its sweet taste that pairs with the big, bold fruit flavors found in Petite Sirah.
