It’s a new day at Sonoma County DeLoach Vineyards! I was on hand as the Sonoma County winery celebrated their renovation and Russian River Valley renaissance. I also got to take part in their all new fun and fresh educational wine tasting experiences. Wine lovers get the chance to taste wine and get hands on, experiencing the Russian River Valley in revolutionary way. DeLoach Vineyards proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset is a breath of fresh air and breathes new life into Sonoma County with DeLoach’s transformation. The new look was inspired by the entrepreneurial pioneering spirit of the DeLoach family, Huguenots who emigrated from the Loire Valley of France to California in the 17th century and the Fleur de Lys, the longtime symbol of DeLoach Vineyards.

Jean-Charles Boisset, Proprietor DeLoach Vineyards

“The Fleur de Lys has traditionally been used to represent French royalty. It is said to signify perfection, light and life. Due to its three petals, the Roman Catholic Church ascribed this “flower of the lily” as the special emblem of the Virgin Mary, which has also been used to represent the Holy Trinity. DeLoach is grateful to inherit this incredible and powerful symbol, which for us represents our holy trinity: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel and sustainable, organic and Biodynamic farming.”

The Magic of Wine and Mustard

Monique Soltani: The Magic of Wine and Mustard

DeLoach Vineyards has been a pioneering producer of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley since 1975.  The Boisset family of Burgundy took over DeLoach Vineyards in 2003 and brought with them the techniques and approaches of Burgundy to winemaking in the Russian River Valley. Under Boisset, DeLoach has grown its small-lot vineyard designate wine program, become a certified organic and Biodynamic estate vineyard, and implemented traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques such as open-top wood fermentors, native yeast fermentations, and hand punch-downs. Wine & Spirits magazine named DeLoach Vineyards a Top 100 Winery for the twelfth time in the winery’s history in 2012.
